The Calling

I began buying storage units at auction almost five years ago. Initially, it was just a fun way to earn a little income. Essentially it’s adult treasure hunting, who doesn’t love that!?! Soon however, the stories began to captivate me. While not every unit tells someone’s story, many do. You wind up perusing other people’s lives, their pictures, and items that held some value.

In my first “whole house” storage unit, I found vintage wedding china with a note from someone’s father. Attempts to return this to the previous owner failed, no one cared. I found myself compelled to not only honor these lives by rehoming items, but also by repurposing all that I could. I consider it part of my job as a steward of this beautiful earth to keep treasures (and upcycle-able “junk”) from the landfill. Vintage clothing, tools, and little household odds and ends with so much life left in them aren't trash.

It's been a wild ride to get here, this place of building the foundation for a brick-and-mortar thrift store. Not the least of these is what you see here: taking the baby steps necessary to cultivate a thriving e-commerce business. I am humbled and grateful.
